Job Title: Paralegal
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our client and play a vital role in supporting legal services within the community. This onsite, contract-to-hire position based in St. Augustine, FL, focuses on assisting with client intake, case preparation, and litigation support while ensuring the highest level of organization and professionalism.
Compensation:
• $22/hour – $25/hour, based on experience
Work Schedule:
• Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities of the Paralegal:
• Conduct client intake and gather documentation for case management and reporting.
• Open, maintain, and close case files and applications.
• Draft legal documents, including notices, discovery, motions, pleadings, and client correspondence.
• Assist attorneys with litigation support, such as preparing exhibits, trial notebooks, and scheduling hearings.
• Provide clients with community resource referrals and schedule interpreter services when needed.
• Track and report volunteer and pro bono hours.
• Maintain accurate time records and perform other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills for the Paralegal:
• Previous experience in a civil law office.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively.
• Education or paralegal certification is a plus.
• Patience and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
