Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement of sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. We focus on our clients' overall financial needs, with consideration and respect for their total relationship with Wells Fargo.

The Credit Sales and Trading group within CIB is seeking a highly experienced and driven Executive Director responsible for the distribution of Macro Credit derivative products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in managing sales coverage for institutional clients, including tier-1 multi-strategy hedge funds and real money accounts, with deep expertise across macro credit products and fixed income markets.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead sales coverage for institutional, multi-strategy hedge funds and real money accounts across USD, European, and Sterling issuers.
  • Drive sales of macro credit products including iTraxx and CDX index, options and volatility instruments, single name credit default swaps (CDS), and investment grade/high yield cash bonds.
  • Develop and execute intensive client coverage strategies
  • Coordinate client onboarding, documentation, and operations with internal Legal and Ops teams.


Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Securities Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in credit sales within major investment banks
  • Proven success in developing and maintaining relationships with tier-1 institutional clients and hedge funds.
  • Experience managing multi-asset sales coverage and cross-asset trade ideas.
  • Has established relationships across the Macro Credit markets.
  • Outstanding knowledge of Credit products and applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Bloomberg proficiency
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Effective organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • A proven track record of client development and retention are a must.
  • Exceptional communication and client relationship management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to spearhead strategic projects and platforms.
  • Proactive leadership and team collaboration.

Job Expectations:

  • Travel to clients, client presentations, and client conferences are required
  • Registration for FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within a 90 or 180-day time period contingent upon number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • This position is subject to FINRA Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background check. Internal transfers are subject to comply with 17 CFR 240.17f-2 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and FINRA Bylaws, Article III, Section 3, which states that Associated Persons should not be subject to statutory disqualification. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.
  • This position is subject to Dodd-Frank Background Screening Requirements, including successful completion and clearing of a background screen. Applicants are subject to a new screen to comply with Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act which states that Associated Persons (AP) cannot be subject to statutory disqualification. Under industry regulations, an AP is defined as a team member who solicits or accepts client orders for swaps. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and are required to report certain incidents.

Pay Range

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

$215,000.00 - $355,000.00
