About Asylum Clinic Kansas City. Asylum Clinic Kansas City is a non-profit immigration legal services provider located in North Kansas City, Missouri that was founded in 2017. Asylum Clinic Kansas City promotes justice through the delivery of accessible legal services and support that empower underserved immigrants and refugees in The Heartland. In addition to direct legal services, we are committed to participating in systemic advocacy and community education and engagement.

The Position.
Asylum Clinic Kansas City seeks a full-time paralegal to assist in our work providing immigration legal services to Afghan immigrants. Applicant will work closely with the Project Director to:

• Draft, compile, and help finalize and file clients' immigration applications. 
• Draft responses to Request for Evidence (RFEs) and coordinate with clients to complete the evidence requested. 
• Assist in following up on cases.
• Manage spreadsheets to track client data and case status. 
• Interact with clients, refugee resettlement agencies and partner organizations on Project

Director’s behalf.

• Coordinate case flow, client communications, and maintain USCIS filing deadlines for current clients. 
• Perform other tasks, as needed, to ensure a high quality of service to our clients.

The ideal candidate:

• Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills (Dari or Pashto language skills preferred but not required);
• Is a fast learner who can meet deadlines and will handle confidential information discreetly;
• Possesses excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks;
• Possesses word processing, spreadsheet, and other basic computer skills;
• Has strong inter-personal skills and works well on a team; and
• Is punctual and responsible.

All candidates must be energetic, friendly and polite. Professional demeanor and appearance are required.

Compensation is $21.50 per hour but is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. The compensation package includes a generous PTO Policy, Paid Holidays, Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, and Simple IRA. Please reply with your resume and cover letter to ltabb@asylumclinickc.org.
